The automobile industry is seeing green and executives want to show off their visions this weekend.
KABC-AM Radio and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) will hold the first-ever “Clean Car Showcase” Sunday on the Third Street Promenade. Ford Motor Company’s “green” cars will be on display and available for test drives by the public.
In this year of high fuel prices, KABC’s event is designed to show off some of the environmentally-friendly options available to consumers. Fuel-efficient vehicles such as the Ford Escape Hybrid, the world’s first hybrid SUV, will be available for consumer test drives.
The public also can drive or ride in the 2005 Ford Focus PZEV that ranks among the lowest emissions cars sold in California. Also on display will be a Ford Focus Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV), part of a test fleet that Ford is developing. Product experts will be on hand to offer information and answer questions about the state-of-the-art technology utilized in the vehicles.
The event will be held on Sunday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of the Promenade and Wilshire Boulevard. Bring your creativity to life
