The American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure, an annual cycling event, will spin out at the Santa Monica Pier today, May 13.
The event raises funds for diabetes research, programs and advocacy and has three levels — targeted to beginner, intermediate and advanced cyclists. The 50-mile event begins at 7 a.m.; the 25-mile ride begins at 8:30 a.m. and the five-mile family ride starts at 10 a.m. With each scenic ride, participants can expect fully-loaded rest stops and support vehicles, and a free lunch, along with music and entertainment at the completion of the event.
