Families Sought to Host French Students for Summer Program, July 19 to Aug. 13

Published:

By Daily Press staff

This summer offers the opportunity to host a student from France for a few weeks. Like traveling, hosting an international student gives host families the opportunity to learn about France and French culture, develop an intimate connection with a new person, and even learn a bit of French. As an added bonus, host families will have the opportunity to accompany their student on outings such as Disneyland, Zuma beach and a Dodger game.

Any family, regardless of its status and composition, can become a host family. All that’s required is to be open and eager to learn about another culture; willing to provide a home environment, share meals with a new member of the family and bring new experiences to the table. A host doesn’t need kids of their own — just the willingness to open their heart and home.

The dates of the program are July 19 through Aug. 13. For more information or to sign up to become a host family call program coordinator Dalia Samansky at (310) 415- 8112, or e-mail, School in the summer doesn’t have to be a bummer
