In the Santa Monica, Malibu and Pacific Palisades areas, Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver two meals a day, five days a week, to all of the ill, elderly and other homebound people who request them. Without their work, people would not be able to live independently, according to officials.
Due to a shortage of staff, Meals on Wheels needs drivers and helpers to volunteer one day a week to deliver a hot and a cold meal between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, to as many as 16 people. Meals on Wheels provides all necessary training.
