The ECPC has moved — but not away from the needs of parents. The Early Childhood Parenting Center (ECPC) has found a new home. The center is once again offering full-service parenting assistance.

Originally started in 1970 and housed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, ECPC is now operating out of the Quaker House in Santa Monica. ECPC is renting space and is not affiliated with the Quaker House, according to officials.

Serving the greater Los Angeles community, ECPC’s staff of volunteer professionals’ goal is to build confident, knowledgeable parents through education, counseling and support groups.

If you have child-rearing questions, you can call the ECPC at (310) 281-9770. The free consultation service has 30 qualified professionals to discuss your concerns about emotional, social and behavioral issues for children from birth to 6 years old.

For medical questions, they recommend you consult your pediatrician or other health care professional. The professionals on-staff include child-development specialists, clinical social workers, family and child therapists, and early childhood educators. Parents can leave a message for staff members and their call will be returned within 24 hours.

In addition, if parents prefer to listen to information on their own time, ECPC has audio CDs on parenting topics such as toilet training, temper tantrums and sleep problems.
