A local movie theater is delivering the classics this week.
The American Cinematheque presents Can’t Stop the Musicals from July 20 through July 30 at the Aero Theatre, co-presented with Outfest. In the wake of “Moulin Rouge”and “Chicago”— two blockbusters that served to re-ignite audience interest in movie musicals, and following in the path of the series presented at the Egyptian and Aero Theatres the past three years, this is a look at an era not normally thought of as rich territory for filmed musicals: the 1970s and 1980s.
All ticket buyers get a chance to win a New York goodie package. All screenings are at the Max Palevsky Theatre at the Aero Theatre, 1328 Montana Ave.
