At 7:57 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, the Santa Monica police responded to the 1500 block of Palisades Park regarding a subject brandishing a knife. When officers arrived to the scene, they spoke to the city employee, who said that he was doing landscaping work when there was a group of homeless individuals sleeping. When he woke them up, one of the homeless individuals became angry and approached him holding a knife in his right hand and began to yell. Krifther Yesseff Gutierez, 23, transient, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $35,000.
