There recently have been several opinion pieces printed in the Daily Press from residents complaining about the increase in jets taking off and landing at Santa Monica Airport. They are concerned about jet fuel emissions, environmental damage, noise and the increased likelihood of a plane crashing into nearby homes.
The letters to the editor were fueled by a guest commentary printed in the Aug. 11 edition by a Santa Monica resident who is heading up a group called “Concerned Residents Against Airport Pollution” that plans to make its concerns an election issue this year for City Council candidates.
So, this week Q-Line wants to know, “Does the increase of jet traffic in Santa Monica concern you? What can local politicians do to solve the problem?”
Call (310) 285-8106 before Friday at 5 p.m. and we’ll print your response in the weekend edition. Please limit your comments to a minute or less. It might help to think first about the wording of your response. TAXES
