The limits of love are examined in Robert Manning Jr.’s newest screenplay, “Unconditional.”
Playwrights 6, the critically acclaimed and only playwright-managed theater company in LA, is presenting a staged reading of “Unconditional” on Friday, Sept. 29.
Manning’s love story will be presented at 7 p.m. at Theatre/Theater, 5041 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles. The reading is free and open to the public. A reception with food and refreshments will follow.
This is the third in Playwrights 6’s 2006 staged reading series, dubbed “Play Night with the PlayWright.” The fourth and fifth readings in the series will be held in October and November at the Powerhouse Theatre in Santa Monica.
“Unconditional” tells the story of Mack, an irresponsible corporate “suit” in pursuit of his soul, and Simone, his free-spirited neighbor. The two meet in a casual crossing of paths and engage in a love affair to end all others. However, life proves challenging when love is unconditional.
A recent graduate of the University of Washington’s Master’s of Fine Arts Program in theater, Manning is an actor/writer and member of Playwrights 6.
Some of his recent acting credits include the television shows “South of Nowhere,” “Criminal Minds,” “NCIS,” “Over There” and “NUMB3RS.” His writing credits include the independent short films “Five,”“Life” and “Study Session.” He and his business partner, Scott Fernstrom, are owners of the independent production company Alpha and Omega Productions, Inc.
