Get a chance to get up close and personal with the Buddhist way of life. “Tibetan Masters & Visions of the Buddhist Life: A Photographic Journey” is the title of a free lecture that will be given at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at Santa Monica College.
Don Farber — who has spent nearly 30 years traveling through eight Asian countries and the U.S. to create a visual record of Buddhist life — will give the talk in room 214 of the art complex, 1900 Pico Blvd.
A book signing will follow, and books will be available for purchase. Seating is limited and is on a first-arrival basis. Parking is free.
The lecture is co-sponsored by the SMC Associates, a private organization that funds speakers and special programs on campus, and the University of California Press Associates, which provides support to the prestigious University of California Press.
Farber is the author of two books, “Visions of a Buddhist Life” and “Portraits of Tibetan Buddhist Masters,” both published by UC Press.
