This year, the Access Fund anticipates over 125 Adopt-a-Crag events at climbing and bouldering areas around the country. The initiative encourages climbing communities to engage local land managers, landowners, park service employees and forest rangers in conversation about ways to conserve and protect their climbing areas and environments. Adopt-a-Crag will take place at Stoney Point located on Topanga Canyon Blvd. ■ Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. — Canyoneering is a rapidly growing sport, which entails hiking, route finding, climbing, wading, swimming and rappelling, often over waterfalls. Rich Carlson of the American Canyoneering Association will discuss canyoneering style, ethics, required gear, safety and techniques. This free in-store clinic is a preview of the ACA’s Canyoneering Workshops held in Stoney Point, a popular climbing area in Los Angeles County.
