October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Molly Maid is sponsoring its 10th annual “Making a Difference Drive” in order to raise funds to support shelters and safe houses across the country.
The 2004 drive collected more than $60,000 from participating businesses, and Molly Maid locations all over the United States are gearing up to help local shelters and safe houses that provide refuge and personal care items for those who need them in their communities.
During October, many Molly Maid businesses nationwide will donate a portion of the service fee for every home cleaned to assist local shelters that provide services to victims and families affected by domestic violence.
Last year, donations increased 300 percent over the previous year, officials said. Since its inception, the Making a Difference Drive has raised more than $500,000 for shelters all over North America, and aims to raise more than $150,000 across the country for the 2005 effort.
