By KATHRYN MOREA
I wish to urge all Santa Monica voters to seriously consider me as one of four possible city council members that they will vote for on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Only one of our seven council members is a woman, yet women make up more than 50 percent of Santa Monica’s population! Additionally, Santa Monica has never had an elected City Council member from the Pico Neighborhood, where I live. If elected, I would be the first council member who is BOTH a mother and Pico resident ever to serve. I think this is very important and sets me far apart from any other candidate.
I believe our residents must come first. The current City Council has lost touch. The special interest group which runs this city has stopped looking out for both renters and homeowners alike. We need city leaders which look out for all the people in Santa Monica, not just a select few. I will put a focus on the top three issues which residents named as their primary concern: Homelessness, parking and traffic. To find out more about where I stand on the issues, or to contact me, please go to KathrynMorea.com. Please vote for change, vote for me, Kathryn Morea, for City Council on Nov. 2. Thank you.
