Some local skaters recently have voiced frustrations over the limited weekday hours of operation at the new $550,000 skate park, the Cove, located at the corner of Olympic Boulevard and 14th Street. The park, typically open about two hours a day during the week, is not equipped with lighting, meaning skaters have to pack it up once the sun goes down.
City officials say they’d like to be able to give residents more access to the park but the current budget does not provide for the needed staffing.
So this week, Q-Line wants to know, “How can City Hall increase access for residents to the new skatepark without putting a strain on its budget?”
