Music Director Steve Wight will present the second in the 2005-06 “Stevenings” series, “The Music and Recordings of the Beatles, Part II” at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Santa Monica, 1260 18th St. Admission is free.
Organizers say this will not be a nostalgic trip down memory lane or a discussion of goofy haircuts. If you don’t know what the first violin plays in the last verse of “Scrambled Eggs,” what the role of the Fairchild 660 and 770 compressors played in the sound of Beatles’ records, how tonic major/minor key changes are used in such songs as “Penny Lane” and “Fool On the Hill,” or what a “Clavioline” is, you may get a fresh look at music you’ve known for 40 years. The series will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. For more information, call (310) 452-8908. Dance from a fresh work
