City officials want the public to give their thoughts on how a new park should be designed.

The city of Santa Monica’s Community and Cultural Services Department will host a second community design workshop on Sunday, Dec. 5, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. — rain or shine — to encourage public input on the design of a small park planned on Euclid Street between Colorado Avenue and Broadway. At the meeting, the design team of Rios Clemente Hale Studios and artist Abbie Morganstein will present three schematic park design options, and will take neighborhood and community comment on the proposed plans. A discussion, and a question-and-answer session is scheduled after the design presentation. The three design schemes build upon the public input received at the first workshop held on Oct. 23, and are also based upon the results of an extensive survey to gauge park user preferences for amenities such as shade, seating, children’s playground equipment, security features and landscape planning.
