Got plans this New Year’s Eve? The First United Methodist Church of Santa Monica is hosting an ancient labyrinth for visitors to say some New Year’s prayers.
The labyrinth is an ancient meditation tool used for centering and prayer. The church will feature a 30 feet by 30 feet canvas with the labyrinth design painted on it. It is a replica of the one laid in the floor of the Chatres cathedral in the Middle Ages.
The labyrinth ceremony will take place on Saturday, Dec. 31, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the last entry is at 8:15 p.m. First United Methodist Church is located at 1008 11th St.
