Free immunizations will soon be available for Santa Monica children. “Shots for Tots and Teens” is a one-day event at St. John’s Health Center at which all children under 18 can get free shots and TB skin tests.
The immunizations will protect against diphtheria, hepatitis B, measles, rubella, hemophilus influenza, mumps, polio, tetanus and whooping cough — diseases known to infect small children as well as teenagers.
Since its inauguration more than 10 years ago, Shots for Tots and Teens has immunized more than 2,000 children, free of charge.
The event will take place Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the St. John’s Health Center cafeteria on the ground floor, located at Arizona Avenue and 22nd Street.
