It’ll be a carnival atmosphere later this month at the pier, all in the name of abused and neglected children.
The Angelic Auxiliary of Children’s Bureau is hosting its annual Carnival at the Pier event on Sunday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier. Proceeds from the event will benefit Children’s Bureau, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.
More than 500 children and parents are scheduled to attend the carnival festivities, including unlimited amusement rides, park games, face painter, balloon artist, hair braiding, lunch and carnival snacks and more. Benefit co-chairs for the event are Candy Beaver, Laurie Glenn and Stephanie Mayer. The event is expected to raise $125,000 net for Children’s Bureau’s child abuse prevention and treatment programs.
Tickets are still available at $70 per adult and $40 per child. Children under the age of 2 are free. Tickets will be held at check in and there is free reserved parking. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (213) 639-1560, ext. 207.
The Angelic Auxiliary was established in 1997 and is comprised of young, socially-conscious women from the Westside. Since the group was formed, more than $700,000 has been raised for Children’s Bureau.
Children’s Bureau serves more than 12,000 at-risk children and their families each year throughout Southern California. Unchained melody: Learn to repair your bicycle
