It will be a day of healing in Topanga in October. Plans are underway for the first annual Topanga Healing Arts Day. The one-day event is offered by the members of the Topanga Healers Association in an effort to take a more active role in the well-being of the community as a whole.
The free event will take place at the Topanga Community House, 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., on Sunday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Healing Arts Day will feature local practitioners offering acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, hands-on energy healing, craniosacral therapy, nutritional counseling, polarity therapy, Reiki, Alexander Technique, astrology (western and vedic), Tarot readings, palmistry, spiritual counseling, zero-balancing, aromathera-py, detoxing treatments and much more.
The workshops, classes and lectures scheduled throughout the day are inside the Topanga Community House.
Call (310) 455-0652 or (310) 455.2402 for more information. Musical performances are expected by Suzanne Teng and Gilbert Levy. Kritan with Andrew Behla and Miche`le Krolik will provide devotional chanting for health and harmony. Nutritious food will be available provided by Inn of the 7th Ray.
The Healing Arts Day was initially inspired by the events of 9/11 that left Americans deeply affected and in need of greater connection, comfort and support, event organizers say. Recent world events have left many people with an increased and ongoing sense of vulnerability, anger and frustration. The diverse group of healers in the Topanga area have now come together in an effort to take a more active role in creating greater healing and well-being in the community.
