By Beatrice Prentice Pacific Palisades
Thank you for your coverage (“Residents are feeling Bowled over,” Oct. 14, page 1) on the problems we are facing as the new owner of our Palisades Mobile Park wants to convert our trailers into condominiums.
Your staff reporter, Kevin Herrera, came to our park and interviewed me along with Florence Cotton about the dilemmas we face if this should happen. We are both senior citizens who have everything to lose should this “sham” conversion take place. Our homes and all our support systems would be at stake.
Affordable housing in Los Angeles and other cities across our country is diminishing. This means more homeless people and near poverty conditions for thousands of others.
Again, my thanks to you and your reporter, Kevin Herrera, for bringing our problems to the attention of our community.
