Published:

City Garage Tucked away in the Fourth Street alley behind the Third Street Promenade lies one of Los Angeles County’s most exciting and daring the-atre companies — City Garage. Frederique Michel and Charles Duncombe present incredibly challenging, smart and fascinating theatre. Their 2006 season is dedicated to Obie-award-winning playwright Charles L. Mee’s radical reworkings of three Greek tragedies: Agamemnon, The Bacchae, and Iphegenia. In Agememnon, Mee transforms the classic tragedy by Aeschylus into a haunting meditation on the struggles and strife of our own time. Agamemnon, returning victorious from a ruinous and misguided war, only to find that the one thing he has accomplished is the destruction of his own society and ultimately, of himself.
