I’m sorry but I don’t consider the steady stream of helicopters buzzing the beach and planes polluting the atmosphere with noise and exhaust a “laughing matter” ( “Earplugs needed for day at beach,” Aug. 3 ). I live in Ocean Park near the beach and my auditory space is being increasingly invaded on a daily basis, especially on the weekends. It’s not a “day at the beach” for me. It’s the privacy of my home and I wish someone would do something about the noisy playground in the sky around here. The Santa Monica Airport seems helpless about mitigating this community problem.
