Artists at ‘Face Value’

Published:

By Daily Press staff

Washington University (St. Louis) graduates and artists Nicole Garen and Jonathan Edwards present “Face Value,” an exhibit showcasing an array of narrative prints and paintings.

The oil paintings of Garen, who hails from Los Angeles, depict interpersonal relationships and suburban America scenarios.

For Edwards, who grew up in Wyoming, the American West and writers such as Samuel Beckett, Sam Shepard and Cormac McCarthy surface in his depictions of cowboys and cowgirls.

Both artists will be available for a question and answer session at the opening celebration on Saturday, July 8, at the Hangar Gallery South in Santa Monica. The show runs through Aug. 19. The gallery is located at 3026 Airport Ave. Admission is free.
