The Commission on the Status of Women is accepting applications for three open seats. Established in 1981, the commission acts in an advisory role to the City Council and City Manager’s Office on matters pertaining to women and girls in Santa Monica.
Santa Monica police arrested two people Friday for driving under the influence during a sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint. SMPD Sgt. Richard Lewis said a total of 1,616 vehicles drove through the checkpoint, the location of which was not released by law enforcement.
