‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ 2-Disc Collector’s Edition With the digital enhancements Tim Burton’s story that puts Santa in jeopardy goes even deeper and darker. Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon’s voice and Danny Elfman when he sings), the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, is bored with doing the same thing every year for Halloween. One day he stumbles into Christmas Town, and is so taken with the idea of Christmas that he tries to get the resident bats, ghouls, and goblins of Halloween town to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween — but alas, they can’t get it quite right. Nominated for a Visual Effects Oscar when it came out in 1993, the package includes a sleigh full of bonus features. Christopher Lee narrates Tim Burton’s original poem. A storyboard-to-film comparison, deleted scenes, a short film, and all-new commentary from Burton, director Henry Selick and music designer Elfman are also included. (Disney) ‘The Adventures of Robin Hood’ (Blu-ray) Nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture and based on the classic English legend of Sherwood Forest, the dashing Errol Flynn is at his athletic, romantic best in the title role as nobleman Robin, the Earl of Locksley. An introduction by film critic Leonard Maltin, numerous shorts, a radio show version, outtakes, and trailers are some of the components that make up the forest full of features that comprise the bonus material.
