BIG BLUE BUS Share your thoughts about Big Blue Bus

The Big Blue Bus is holding community meetings this month that will focus on several new transit initiatives and on service improvements currently under consideration.

Topics to be discussed include: • Sunset Ride — There’ll be a discussion of Sunset Ride changes since its inception eight months ago and of the current proposal to split the ride into two routes. If split into two routes, buses would travel down 17th Street in both directions. Staff will present findings indicating a split will not optimize the route and could have a negative impact on riders. • Tri-Annual Analysis & Five-Year Service Plan — New information on ridership, on-time performance, and passenger loads will be presented based on the most recent line-by-line analysis. Adjusting Line 7 for better performance, status of the new maintenance facility project, and ordering of articulated buses will also be reviewed. • Increased Service to Santa Monica High School. Lines 4 and 9 will now service the campus. • 80th Anniversary — BBB celebrates 80 years of Service and Innovation this year, which will kick off with a public party on the Third Street Promenade April 14, at 11 a.m. • Upcoming Events — BBB will extend a public invitation to join us at community events, including: Earth Day, Santa Monica Festival, Twilight Concert Series and Alt Car Expo.

BBB takes positive and realistic affirmative steps to ensure that all persons and/or firms wishing to benefit from its services and participate in its programs are given equal and equitable opportunity to do so. To this end, Big Blue Bus makes every effort to ensure meetings are held in accessible venues and will provide translation services if requested at least 72 hours prior to each meeting. You may also submit written comments to the Big Blue Bus customer relations manager, 1660 Seventh St.

Meetings will be held at the Main Library, UCLA’s Ackerman Viewpoint Community Room and Fairview Branch Library.
