ABC is looking for managers in Santa Monica who would like to swap jobs with someone else for a new TV reality show called “Boss Swap.”
Bosses from a wide range of sectors with very different views on management will be asked to swap places and apply their skills in a new environment — and TV viewers will observe the results.
In each program, two bosses from different companies swap places for 12 days and run each other’s firm. Neither boss knows where he or she is going or who will be his or her replacement. After a week, the new boss must introduce at least five changes to improve the company.
Award-winning British TV production company RDF Media — the people behind the TLC show “Faking It” — is looking for bosses with flair to take part in the series. They want to find people with strong ideas about management who are willing to take part in the experiment.
In “Boss Swap,” you’ll find out what it’s really like to be a boss, and just how much difference a change of boss can make to a company.
The series will be broadcast on the ABC Network later this year.
Working life is about so much more than the task at hand. It’s about the relationships between you and your colleagues, it’s the hours you’re expected to put in, the “face time,” the lunch options, the office with the nice views or “cubes” with no windows. And workplace culture is almost always determined by one person — The Boss.
There are almost as many management styles as there are managers. And being on top of all the skills that a manager needs is extremely difficult. “Boss Swap” plans to explore what it takes to be an effective manager.
Managers interested in taking part should contact Sam Kivi at (818) 432- 4720 or e-mail:
