(Re: “Damn the bikes in Santa Monica,” Nov. 21) The days of “riding a bicycle.... supposed to be fun and carefree... freedom...” (Tittinger) is a dreamer. Those days are gone, gone, gone due to the heavy traffic in Southern California.
I, as a pedestrian, have been hit twice, both times by uninsured motorists, both times the light was in my favor. I have been knocked down by a bicyclist while walking on the sidewalk. Pedestrians are also concerned about the environment.
Get off the kick that bicyclists are special, entitled. This is 2007, get with it!
