Christmas is coming sooner than expected at a local hotel. The Santa Monica Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will hold its annual Christmas in September fashion show/luncheon on Sept. 2 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica.

Jewelry, gift items and other specialty boutiques will open at 11 a.m., and the luncheon is at noon. The event benefits programs for children of needy families, which include the distribution of new toys during the holidays, said Louise Gabriel, event general chair.

Stephanie Edwards, TV and radio personality, is the honorary chair, as well as commentator for the fashion show, which will feature new fall fashions for men, women and children from Robinsons May, Santa Monica Place, to be modeled by representatives from Westside community organizations.

Music for the fashion show will be performed by Anthony Begonia. The models will be escorted by Mark Olson, representing the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, and Santa Monica Police Lt. Frank Fabrega. The models are Dana Harris, the Irene Dunne Guild, Saint John’s Medical Center; Karon Larmore, Rotary Club; Carroll McEachern and Joanna Wood, Santa Monica–UCLA Medical Center Auxiliary; June Peralta, Assistance League; Helen Vasak, Santa Monica Sister City; Evelyn and Natalie Guerboian, Santa Monica Breakfast Club; Jean McNeil Wyner, Santa Monica Historical Society Museum; Monet Brock, YMCA Y’s Men and Women; and junior models Allison and Briana Vasak.

Committee chairs include June Livingston, Edith Conovitz, Dorothy Schweder, Ellie Margaillan, Virginia Nairn, Ila Stewart, Joyce Garrison and Lenore Johnson. Reservations are $50 per person and may be made with Roberta de la Puente, (310) 399-3570, or the Salvation Army office, (310) 451-1358.
