CITYWIDE Seeking submissions

Published:

The Third Annual Santa Monica Teen Film Festival is inviting kids grades 7 through 12 to submit original films between 30 seconds and 30 minutes in length in all categories.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 9. Entries that meet the minimum criteria will be considered for screening at the festival on June 21 and June 22. Entry forms and submission guidelines are available online at www.santamonicateenfilmfest.com, or at the following locations: Virginia Avenue Park Teen Center and the Main Library.

The “Santa Monica Budding Filmmaker Award” will be presented to a local teen who demonstrates originality, potential, and a commitment to the art of filmmaking. The purpose of the festival is to showcase and provide an outlet for the creative talents of teen filmmakers, as well as encourage youth to use the art of filmmaking as a form of creative expression and commentary on the world in which they live.

The festival is an interdepartmental initiative between the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division, the Santa Monica Public Library, the teen center and City TV.
