Published:

By Daily Press staff

Teenagers interested in the trendy art of comic strips — from traditional comics to Japanese manga — can learn more by attending the Santa Monica Public Library’s free three-part reading and discussion series called “Comix.@$#!.” Each discussion will focus on a theme and include a discussion of the art as well as the text.

The discussions will be held at the Montana Avenue Branch, 1704 Montana Ave. Meetings are on Saturdays at 3 p.m. on March 5, March 19 and April 9. Registration for the series is required and copies of the books will be provided upon sign-up. To register, call (310) 458-8976.

Comix.@$#! is the first discussion program for teens developed by the California Center for the Book in conjunction with the California Library Association. The California Center for the Book is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library. Search for ‘Meaning’ stops at Montana library
