Now there’s a support group for activists in Santa Monica. The Activist Support Circle, a new emotional support endeavor for longtime and just-beginning progressive activists, will hold a public gathering on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. at the Friends Meeting Hall located at 1440 Harvard St.

More than 40 progressive activists of all ages and varied causes met during an introductory gathering on Feb. 23. The general consensus was that regularly scheduled Activist Support Circle gatherings will be helpful in providing a supportive and safe opportunity for sharing and discussion of activist-related frustrations and fears, as well as activist-related hopes and aspirations, event organizers said. There is no charge to attend the gatherings.

Organizers say that all progressive activists, whether they are working with an established organization or individually, or whether they are working on issues such as peace, the environment, civil liberties, human rights or a host of other progressive causes, are invited to attend.

Free parking is available on-site or along Santa Monica Boulevard. For further information, call (310) 399-1000.
