In other Red Cross news: Youth volunteers will hold a car wash that will benefit a wide range of youth activities at the chapter.
The cost for an “expert” hand wash of any car, small truck or sport utility vehicle is $5 the day of the event. Advance discount coupons entitling the bearer to a $4 car wash can be obtained before July 19 from Red Cross youth volunteers, or at the front desk at the Santa Monica chapter.
The car wash is one of many youth activities sponsored by the Santa Monica chapter. Last year, more than 450 youth of middle-school and high-school age levels participated in programs that included disaster training, classes in first aid and CPR, working at various chapter public events and generally assisting around the chapter itself.
The American Red Cross of Santa Monica is a publicly-supported, nonprofit corporation that provides health and safety education, youth services, CPR and first-aid training and local disaster awareness and disaster relief efforts.
