The Human Relations Council-Santa Monica Bay Area will celebrate the work of nearly 70 Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District students on June 15 at 4 p.m. in the John Adams Middle School auditorium.

The 46th Annual Literature and Arts Program celebration honors students from across the district in grades four through 12th for their outstanding work responding to this year’s prompt: “A Respectful Community — Each Individual’s Right; Each Individual Responsibility.”

All student essays and artwork reflect their perspectives on the idea of the development of a community that embraces diversity, respect inclusion and justice.

The Santa Monica Bay Area Human Relations Council is a partnership of community organizations, institutions and businesses that actively promotes and supports a respectful and socially just community through education, advocacy, and resolution of local conflicts and issues. In addition to the Annual Literature and Arts Program, the council sponsors community-wide dialogues.

The celebration is open to the public and admission is free. For more information, please contact or call (310 450-8338, ext. 155.
