Christopher Allport’s theatrical memoir, “The Backroad Home,” a story of draft evasion in the 1960s, the open road and his father continues at the Ruskin Group Theatre Co.
Weaving personal history and tales from the highway with original music, the one-man piece reflects the yearnings and dreams of an entire generation. Tracing the journey from hippie youth to the present, Allport’s stories and songs illuminate the choices made in one’s youth and the understanding that comes with life experience.
“The Backroad Home” is playing the fourth Sunday of every month at the Ruskin Group Theatre Co., located at 3000 Airport Drive at the Santa Monica Airport. Tickets are $10. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (310) 397-3244 or visit www.ruskingrouptheatre.com.
