DP Get fat in Marina Del Rey

Published:

Celebrate Mardi Gras with New Orleans jazz music and Cajun cooking while raising money for Re-Unite America. On Fat Sat., Feb. 24, from 1 to 5 p.m., Uncle Darrow’s Cajun/Creole Eatery will hold its seventh annual Mardi Gras West celebration. Enjoy free live entertainment and a crawfish boil. The BlueCat Express, a traditional New Orleans jazz Blues and Zydeco band, will be performing throughout the day.

Partial proceeds from the event will go to Re-Unite America to profit a larger benefit concert and festival slated for July 28 at Santa Monica College. The July benefit will pay homage to the Californians who traveled to the Gulf Coast region to assist with search and rescue efforts after both hurricanes, Katrina and Rita. Re-Unite America is a non-profit organization conceived and founded in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Uncle Darrow’s restaurant is located at 2560 S. Lincoln Blvd, Marina del Rey. For more information, call (310) 306-GUMBO.
