Edgemar Center for the Arts’ third annual gala fundraiser was a lively evening of comedy, music and dance, including the opening of Lyndie Benson’s “Portraits” and highlights from the award-winning French cabaret “The Night of the Black Cat,” with a special performance by Jason Alexander.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Edgemar Center for the Art’s Children’s Outreach Programs as well as their theatres.

The evening began with a VIP dinner at Rockenwagner, followed by a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception. At 8:15 p.m., Alexander joined the cast of Edgemar Center for the Arts to perform highlights from “Black Cat”. The festivities continued with an after-show celebration.

Last year’s fundraiser was led by Alexander in a reading of Brecht’s “The Irresistible Rise of Arturo Ui.” The previous year was a star-studded ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw.

Edgemar Center for the Arts, located in Frank Gehry's architectural landmark building, is host to theatre productions, jazz and cabaret shows, revolving art exhibitions, film festivals and public arts programs serving underprivileged children in the Westside community.
