Adelphia, Southern California’s largest cable operator, announced that Adelphia Digital Cable subscribers in Santa Monica can view CityTV’s comprehensive coverage of the 2004 Santa Monica city elections on Adelphia OnDemand at no extra charge.
The free OnDemand content provides a way for voters to replay programs and watch what they want, when they want. Residents can brush up on candidates for city council, county judicial seats, college board, school board, the rent control board and two ballot measures. Adelphia customers must have a digital receiver, which costs $3.85 a month.
“Adelphia OnDemand provides the perfect opportunity for each customer to sit down at their convenience and truly educate themselves on this year’s election that will impact the local community,” said Tom Carlock, regional Vice President of Law and Public Policy for Adelphia.
Adelphia OnDemand uses the two-way functionality of digital cable to give cable subscribers the power to access programming via their digital cable converter boxes, and view any of the available election programming OnDemand at any time. Viewers can also navigate the programs they’re watching, using the same stop, play, pause, fast forward and rewind functions they are accustomed to with DVD or VHS players.
Adelphia is the largest cable provider in Southern California, serving more than 1.2 million households. For more information, log onto www.adelphiasocal.com.
