If there’s one place on this planet that you shouldn’t be if you value your eye-sight, it’s anywhere near Tippi Hedren. She attracts the wrong crowd — birds. We’re not talking Foghorn “I say, I say” Leghorn, Warner Brothers types, but grudge-holding, Hitchcock hens of hell that’ll lay in wait for a peck at those succulent orbs in your eye sockets. Hedren, best known for her roll as Melanie Daniels in Hitchcock’s “The Birds” and creator of Melanie Griffith, will speak at Santa Monica College on Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.

Hedren will talk about the work she is doing with the Shambala Wildlife Preserve — she’s no doubt breeding vicious game fowl to wreak revengeful havoc on unsuspecting hobby hunters. Just kiddding, but that would be funny. If you dare, join her in room 235 of the SMC Academy of Arts & Technology, located at 1660 Stewart St. near Colorado Avenue.
