Artists in the Pico neighborhood have been at work. The Pico Improvement Organization will present the first “Pico Artists at Work,” scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is the first event that coordinates and showcases the many artistic enterprises and activities that happen along Pico Boulevard.
Pico is the workshop of Santa Monica — gritty, real and buzzing — where exciting things are made every day, according to merchants there. Many galleries and artists will offer demonstrations, educational materials, and promotional items in addition to art-work for sale. There will be more than galleries, studios, workshops classes featured.
Shuttle vans will make stops at centralized locations. Virginia Ave. Park, located on Pico Boulevard, will host various arts organizations and a performance venue. Raffles for artwork will benefit non-profits Westside Pregnancy Center and Stitches From The Heart, both located on Pico Boulevard.
