It has come to light that the school board is reviewing plans to create a “boutique” high school of 100 students to encourage green studies.
As a parent of a student at Santa Monica High School where my son has to maneuver through 3,000 students to get to classes of 35-plus students, I cry foul. Isn’t there a budget crisis in California? Now our precious Measure R taxes are to be used to create a “boutique” high school for 100 students so they can have a class size of 25 students? My 9 year old has a fourth grade class of 31 students. How is that equitable?
Those funds are desperately needed for all students throughout the entire school district. Let’s make all of Samohi green and equitable.
