The popular “L.A. Cafe Plays” are showing again on Sunday at the Ruskin Group Theater. Five short plays will be conceived, written and rehearsed within 10 1/2 hours, then staged at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Beginning at 9 a.m. that day, writers will have four hours to produce a seven-to 10-page one-act play, then directors and actors have the remaining six-plus hours to rehearse.
The monthly production, which has drawn widespread acclaim from audiences and press, has featured past known actors such as Dylan McDermott, Olivia D’Abo and Dan Lauria.
Tickets are $10. The theater is located at 3000 Airport Dr., next to the Santa Monica Airport.
