Fresh from their victory at the Section One Championships on March 13, the Santa Monica Girls Under 10 All Stars have advanced to the TriSection tournament and are now just two games away from winning the highest competitive championship in AYSO.

Coached by Angel Vazquez and Peter Meyer, the nine-member team entered the Section One championships as the Area 1P Champions, having won the area championship over Pacific Palisades, Culver City, Beverly Hills, West LA, Hollywood/Wilshire and Central and South Los Angeles. The team dominated the Section One Tournament by defeating teams from Weschester, Chino and Redlands, each of which had won their respective area championships. The semi-final game was against Aracdia and finally the victory was clinched with a decisive 5-1 victory over the Pasadena All Stars.

Team members racked up a tournament record of 26 goals for and only three against, continuing the winning streak that commenced with their record of 7-0 in the Area 1P tournament. The Santa Monica Saints All Star team members are: Kayla Dickie, Hilary Dubin, Caroline Huber, Dalia Kaufman, Lindsay Levesque, Lucia McGloin, Sasha Meyer, Lily Moriarty and Kristen Vasquez. The SM AYSO is led by its regional commissioner, Maryanne LaGuardia.

They will play the Section 10 winners Moorpark All Stars in the semifinals of TriSection this Sunday morning in Palmdale, and hope to move on to the finals Sunday afternoon.

The Tri-Section Championships cover all AYSO regions from Bakersfield and Fresno to the border with Mexico and from the ocean to Las Vegas.
