As a very long time Santa Monica city resident, I am sick and tired of all the radical talk regarding the removal of deceased and old trees in the city. My main objection … is the reference to Walt Warriner’s role. He is the only city employee I have dealt with over the years who has immediately taken care of a problem I have called about.
Recently I called him about a tree on 17th [Street] with a broken branch over the sidewalk and his crew responded within a couple of hours to remove the branch. Later in the afternoon he surveyed the tree and had it removed the next day. Give him a break.
