About time the city got rid of the loud music at the Main Street Farmers Market. Sunday morning happens to be the most convenient time for me to shop, but I rarely go to Main Street because I am so annoyed with the overwhelming racket from the pop-themed amplified bands. They don't even play good music.
I did complain politely to the city people at the market a few years ago, but they said nothing could be done. Sure.
Why is it that Americans always HAVE to have some noise going? What is so frightening about silence? Even TV documentaries and news programs run robotic “music” underneath the commentary — sometimes drowning it out. At the Main Street market, why not just shop peacefully among the beautifully-displayed food and produce stands?
