Filmmaker Paul Tarantino’s independent horror film “Headhunter” has been selected as an opening night film for the Dances with Film Festival in Santa Monica.

“Headhunter” will screen at midnight, May 6, at the Laemmle’s Monica Fourplex Theaters.

The film follows Ben (Ben Parrillo, “A Better Way to Die”) as an everyman in search of a better job. When he is led to a high-end corporate headhunter by one of his clients (Mark Aiken, “Alias”), the headhunter turns out to be a head turner named Sarah (Kristi Clainos, “Bewitched”), who hooks him up with a job that’s too good to be true … and it is.

Soon Ben finds himself involved in a supernatural trap, where he must find the head of the long-dead Sarah by the anniversary of her death, or perish himself. For more info and a trailer of the film, visit Headhunterthemovie.com.

Tarantino (writer/director/producer of “Courting Courtney”) recently directed the comedy pilot presentation “The Nelsons” for Fremantle Media. He is currently developing his screenplay, “Christmas Robot,” with Red Giant Entertainment for production as a CGI animated holiday special. Tarantino also has his original comedy screenplay “Stretch” in development with producer Vincent Newman (“A Man Apart”).
