How Jesus handled an adolescent By Daily Press staff

The Rough Draft Theater Ensemble of Santa Monica will present a free reading of a Los Angeles playwright and filmmaker.

Emmett Loverde’s comedy “Jesus Awakens the Little Girl” will be held on Thursday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Family Theater, 7201 West Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood.

The play — lasting about 25 minutes — is appropriate for all ages and all faiths, according to officials, and the cast will feature Marta Kristen-Kane — star of TV’s “Lost in Space.”

There will be an intermission followed by a reading of original poetry by Ron Version and a reading of “The Sheep and the Goats” by Sheila Verges.

“Jesus Awakens the Little Girl” is inspired by the stories from the books of Matthew and Mark in the Bible that told of Jesus bringing the 12-year-old daughter of a leader of the synagogue back from the dead.
