The California Ocean Protection Council will host a meeting in Santa Monica today on the dangerous and devastating effects trash — plastic trash, in particular — can have on marine life. The council is considering drafting a resolution calling for stricter regulation of plastics, and possibly a statewide ban on Styrofoam.
