The League of Women Voters of Santa Monica has launched its 2026 voting season after registering more than 70 students at Santa Monica College.
Building on that momentum, the league returned to campus Sept. 15 for National Voter Registration Day.
Along with its ongoing voter registration work, the league is preparing for its signature election events: a series of nonpartisan candidate forums that give voters direct access to local candidates. Through partnerships with community organizations, the league offers residents across Santa Monica a chance to ask candidates about the issues that affect them most.
The forum schedule:
Sept. 29, 6:30-8 p.m.: Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education candidates, in partnership with the Santa Monica-Malibu PTA Council.

Oct. 4, 6:30-8 p.m.: Santa Monica City Council candidates, in partnership with the Committee for Racial Justice.
